Honest Burgers Drops a Maple Cajun BBQ Collab You Need to Try

Spring menus in London tend to lean towards the fresh and floral—but this year, one of the city’s most beloved burger spots is taking things in a bolder, smokier direction. Honest Burgers has teamed up with cult favourite Sauce Shop for a limited-edition collaboration that brings deep Southern-inspired flavour to the capital, just in time for April dining.

Landing in restaurants from 31 March until 11 May, the Maple Cajun BBQ Burger is the kind of special that cuts through the noise. Built around Sauce Shop’s newly launched Maple Cajun BBQ sauce, it’s a confident, flavour-forward creation that balances sweetness, smoke and spice in a way that feels indulgent without tipping into excess.

A limited-edition burger worth seeking out

At the core of the burger is the sauce itself and it does a lot of heavy lifting. Combining the mellow sweetness of maple with Cajun spices, smoked paprika and hickory, it delivers a layered BBQ depth that unfolds with each bite. There’s a gentle heat from black pepper running through it too, giving just enough kick to keep things interesting without overwhelming the palate.

That sauce is paired with smoky bacon and melted American cheese, creating a rich, savoury base, while buttermilk fried onions add crunch and a touch of indulgence. Confit garlic mayo brings a softer, rounded flavour, offset by crisp lettuce and homemade pickles that cut through the richness with a welcome sharpness.

What makes the offering particularly appealing is its versatility. Diners can opt for a classic beef patty, double smashed beef for something more indulgent, or Honest’s fried chicken for a slightly lighter but no less satisfying take. Each variation carries the sauce differently, meaning the experience shifts subtly depending on your choice.

Cajun BBQ wings that demand attention

While the burger may be the headline act, the supporting dish deserves just as much attention. The Cajun BBQ Wings arrive coated in that same maple Cajun BBQ sauce, resulting in a sticky, glossy finish that’s hard to resist.

Finished with confit garlic mayo, crispy onions and a scattering of chives, they strike a balance between richness and texture. There’s a satisfying contrast between the tender chicken and the crunch of the toppings, while the sauce ties everything together with its sweet-smoky intensity. They’re messy in the best possible way—exactly what you want from a side that’s clearly designed to be shared, even if it rarely is.

Rolling out across London and beyond

The limited-edition menu is available across all Honest Burgers locations nationwide, making it one of the more accessible food launches of the season. It also coincides with the opening of a new site at Westfield Shepherd’s Bush, adding another destination for West London diners to get in on the action.

For those who prefer a night in, the full experience is also available via Uber Eats. That said, this is a dish that arguably benefits from being eaten fresh best enjoyed in one of Honest’s lively, no-frills dining rooms, where the atmosphere matches the boldness of the food.

The verdict

In a city saturated with limited-time specials, it takes something distinctive to stand out. This collaboration manages it by focusing on flavour first and letting everything else follow. The Maple Cajun BBQ Burger feels considered rather than gimmicky, with each component playing a clear role in building a cohesive, satisfying whole.

It also taps into what London diners are craving right now: comfort food that still feels new, familiar formats elevated by thoughtful twists, and collaborations that actually make sense. By partnering with Sauce Shop, Honest Burgers has delivered something that feels both credible and genuinely exciting.

If you’re mapping out the best things to eat in London this April, this is one to add to the list. Just don’t leave it too late the Maple Cajun BBQ Burger disappears after 11 May, and it’s unlikely to stick around once it’s gone.
