There are few London food and drink trends that have travelled quite as far, quite as quickly, as matcha. Once a niche order reserved for those in the know, the vivid green Japanese tea has become a fixture of the capital’s café culture and JENKI has been at the centre of its rise.
Now, the London matcha brand is heading to one of the city’s most celebrated food and drink neighbourhoods. JENKI Soho will officially open at 100 Berwick Street on Thursday 3 September 2026, bringing its freshly whisked Japanese matcha to the heart of Soho.
But before the doors officially open, JENKI is giving the neighbourhood a taste of what’s to come with a suitably buzzy collaboration.
JENKI x Supernova:

On Friday 28 and Saturday 29 August, JENKI will team up with its new Soho neighbour, viral smash-burger destination Supernova, for a two-day takeover dubbed The Neighbourhood Serve.
The collaboration brings together two very different sides of London’s current food scene: Supernova’s indulgent smashed burgers and JENKI’s increasingly ubiquitous matcha.
For two days only, visitors will be able to order one of just 200 collaboration boxes per day, each combining a Supernova burger of choice with fries served alongside matcha mayo, a matcha lemonade and matcha soft serve.
Yes, matcha is making its way into almost every course. JENKI will also be whisking matcha on site throughout the weekend, making the takeover as much about the theatre of preparation as it is about the finished drinks.
The collaboration will take over Supernova with limited-edition JENKI x Supernova packaging, window artwork, menus and team T-shirts, giving the Soho burger spot a temporary green makeover. There is even a Scratch & Win card included with every collaboration box, offering guests the chance to win prizes redeemable at both JENKI Soho and Supernova.
For Londoners who like their food trends served with a side of FOMO, the limited run of 400 boxes means this is one to get to early.

A New Home For JENKI In Soho
The collaboration is effectively a preview of JENKI’s next chapter. On 3 September, the brand will open its doors at 100 Berwick Street, adding Soho to an expanding London portfolio that already includes Spitalfields, Covent Garden, Canary Wharf, Battersea Power Station and Selfridges.
The new bar will serve JENKI’s signature freshly whisked Japanese matcha, alongside its wider drinks menu, seasonal specials and food offering.
And because opening a new London café should probably come with a little generosity, JENKI is bringing its ‘Matcha On Us’ tradition to Soho. Guests will be able to enjoy complimentary matcha throughout opening day, with the brand inviting its new neighbours to come down and celebrate.
“We’ve wanted to find the right home for JENKI in Soho for a long time, so opening on Berwick Street feels incredibly exciting,” says co-founder Claudia Boyer. “We love the energy of the neighbourhood and wanted to celebrate becoming part of it by teaming up with one of our new neighbours.”

How JENKI Became A Matcha Mainstay
Founded by Claudia and Otto Boyer in 2020, JENKI began life as a market stall and pop-up before opening its first permanent matcha bar in Spitalfields in 2021.
A landmark partnership with Selfridges followed in 2022, with JENKI’s opening becoming one of the department store’s most successful food and beverage launches in recent years.
Since then, the brand has expanded across London while developing a reputation for taking matcha seriously. JENKI sources first-harvest Japanese matcha directly from Kyoto and other leading tea-growing regions across Japan, with each drink freshly whisked to order.
The focus is as much on the ritual as the result. Rather than treating matcha as simply another ingredient for a sweet drink, JENKI’s bars are designed around the craft and preparation of the tea itself.
That approach has helped turn the brand into one of Europe’s leading dedicated matcha hospitality businesses. JENKI has also picked up Double Gold at the Great Taste Awards and was named Matcha Brand of the Year at the European Coffee & Hospitality Awards 2025.
With thousands of matcha drinks now served across its London locations every week, the Soho opening feels less like a new café launch and more like the latest chapter in London’s ongoing matcha obsession.
And with Supernova next door, it looks like Berwick Street has just found its newest power pairing.
