108 Brasserie’s La Terrasse on the Lane Brings a Slice of Provence to Marylebone

There is something about a rosé terrace in London that immediately signals the beginning of summer. The city softens a little. Lunches become longer, plans become looser and suddenly everyone is chasing that elusive feeling of being somewhere far away from central London, even if only for a few hours. This season, 108 Brasserie has managed to capture exactly that feeling with La Terrasse on the Lane, a seasonal collaboration with Château La Coste that transforms the cobbled corner of Marylebone into something straight out of the South of France.

Positioned just outside the brasserie’s Marylebone Lane home, the terrace feels worlds away from the pace of the city. Framed by soft pink blooms inspired by the wildflower fields and olive groves of Château La Coste’s Provençal estate, the space leans fully into the romance of European summer dining. Think pale rosé poured tableside from magnums, striped seating, golden evening light and the kind of atmosphere that encourages you to stay for “just one more glass” until suddenly it is dark outside.

For Escaping London Without Leaving Marylebone

The beauty of La Terrasse on the Lane is how immersive it feels. Even on a day interrupted by London rain, the terrace somehow retained a tropical warmth thanks to softly glowing heaters and the intimate layout of the space. By early evening, it genuinely became easy to forget you were sitting in the middle of London.

There is an effortless sophistication to the entire experience. Not overly polished or intimidating, but elevated in that understated Marylebone way. It feels designed for long catch ups with friends, spontaneous date nights, post work rosé that turns into dinner, or those classic London summer afternoons that slowly stretch into evening.

And while terraces across the capital often rely heavily on aesthetics alone, 108 Brasserie backs it up with genuinely strong food and service.

For Rosé, Lobster Rolls and the Ultimate “Girl Dinner”

From the moment we sat down, the service immediately stood out. Every member of staff was attentive without being overbearing, consistently topping up glasses and talking us through each course with real knowledge and enthusiasm. It felt personal, warm and refreshingly unrushed.

Dinner began with fresh bread served alongside Château La Coste’s own olive oil, which carried that rich, peppery depth only proper estate made olive oil seems to have. Paired with chilled rosé, it set the tone perfectly for the evening ahead.

Then came the brioche lobster roll, which may quietly become one of Marylebone’s sleeper summer hits. The brioche itself was impossibly soft, filled generously with fresh lobster that tasted light, buttery and delicate rather than overly dressed or heavy. Served with Caesar salad and crisp fries, it was indulgent without feeling excessive. The kind of meal that somehow lands perfectly between lunch and dinner. A true girl dinner in the best possible sense.

The seafood platter that followed leaned fully into Riviera energy. Fresh shellfish, bright citrus and beautifully prepared seafood designed for slow eating alongside another glass of rosé. Everything felt intentionally uncomplicated, allowing the quality of the ingredients to do the work.

For Indulgent Desserts and Slow Summer Evenings

Dessert at La Terrasse on the Lane deserves its own moment. The cherry clafoutis with olive oil ice cream felt deeply Provençal in spirit and unapologetically indulgent. Rich cherries, soft baked custard and the slightly savoury depth from the olive oil ice cream created one of those desserts that feels both comforting and elevated at the same time.

By that point in the evening, the terrace had fully settled into its rhythm. Glasses clinking, golden lighting, conversations spilling between tables and a soundtrack that made the entire space feel cinematic without trying too hard.

It is exactly the kind of setting London does best during summer when it remembers how to romanticise itself.

For Your Next Summer Terrace Reservation

108 Brasserie

In a city filled with seasonal terrace launches, La Terrasse on the Lane manages to feel genuinely transportive. Perhaps it is the Château La Coste influence, perhaps it is the warmth of the service, or perhaps it is simply the combination of good rosé, seafood and a beautiful setting on a summer evening. Either way, it works.

For anyone searching for a London terrace that balances atmosphere, food and escapism equally well, 108 Brasserie should firmly be on your summer list.

And while a passport may not technically be required, after a few glasses of rosé beneath the blooms of La Terrasse on the Lane, you could easily convince yourself you are somewhere much further south.
