A Spicy Valentine’s Review: Valentine’s Day does not always need roses, set menus or forced romance. Sometimes, it is as simple as good pizza, a well-made margarita and the right company. This February, that is exactly what MOTH and Franco Manca deliver with their limited-edition Be My Spicy Valentine collaboration. After attending the event, we can confidently say it is one of the most enjoyable and refreshingly unfussy Valentine’s concepts we have seen this year.
Running from 4 February to 4 March 2026, the pairing brings together Franco Manca’s new Spicy Margherita pizza and MOTH’s Spicy Margarita in one neat, very drinkable bundle. No theatrics, no overthinking, just a genuinely good match.
The Pizza That Brings the Heat

Franco Manca’s Spicy Margherita builds on everything the brand does well. The sourdough base is light, chewy and properly blistered, topped with an organic tomato and scotch bonnet base that brings warmth rather than shock. Mozzarella softens the heat, chilli adds a steady kick, and fresh basil keeps everything grounded.
It is spicy, but well balanced. The heat lingers just enough to make you reach for another bite rather than another glass of water. It feels indulgent without tipping into novelty, and crucially, it still tastes like a pizza you would happily order again.
A Margarita That Holds Its Own
Alongside it is MOTH’s Spicy Margarita, served in one of the brand’s signature little black cans. Poured over ice, it delivers exactly what you want from a margarita. Bright lime, clean tequila and a chilli warmth that builds gently rather than overwhelms.
What stood out during the evening was how well the drink complements the food. The acidity cuts through the richness of the cheese, while the chilli mirrors the heat of the pizza without competing for attention. It feels intentional rather than gimmicky, which is not always the case with food and drink pairings.
The Experience

Part of the appeal lies in how easy it all feels. Whether enjoyed in one of Franco Manca’s restaurants or ordered at home, the pairing is designed to work without fuss. The heart-shaped pizza box adds a lighthearted touch without distracting from what matters. Designed to hold the pizza and cocktail together, it feels practical, fun and refreshingly self-aware rather than novelty-led.
At the event itself, the mood was relaxed and social. People lingered, talked, shared slices and topped up glasses. It felt more like a relaxed night out with friends than a formal launch, which made the experience all the more enjoyable.
A Valentine’s Worth Choosing

At £14 for the pizza and cocktail combo, this feels refreshingly accessible. It is the kind of Valentine’s plan that works just as well for couples as it does for friends, or even solo diners who simply want something a little special on a winter evening.
In a season crowded with prix-fixe menus and grand gestures, MOTH and Franco Manca have landed on something far more appealing. Good food, a great drink and a sense of humour about the whole thing. Sometimes, that is all you need.
The MOTH x Franco Manca Be My Spicy Valentine combo is available nationwide from 4 February to 4 March 2026 in restaurants and via delivery.
