National Curry Week 2026: TONE’s Best Places to Eat Curry in London

There’s never really a bad time for a curry, but National Curry Week is the perfect excuse to explore some of London’s best Indian, Malaysian and South Asian restaurants. Taking place from 5th–11th October, this year’s celebrations are a chance to go beyond the familiar favourites, with everything from regional Indian cooking and modern interpretations to Malaysian curries and classic curry house comfort food.

For Modern Indian Dining: Chatora City

What: Located close to Bank and Mansion House, Chatora City serves modern Indian cooking led by Chef Imamuddin Khan, whose career includes time at The Cinnamon Club, Kahani and Baluchi in London. The restaurant offers a more elevated take on Indian dining, making it a great choice for anyone looking to celebrate National Curry Week with regional flavours, polished cooking and an extensive wine list.

For A Feast Of Indian Flavours: Colonel Saab

What: With restaurants in Holborn and Trafalgar Square, Colonel Saab celebrates the diversity of Indian food through recipes and regional specialities inspired by restaurateur Roop Partap Choudhary’s family history and travels across India. The menu features dishes including Sunday Lamb Curry, Falahari Curry Kofta and Gutti Vankaya, an Andhra-style curry of baby aubergines in tangy tamarind gravy. There are also plenty of reasons to save room for dessert, with signatures including Rasmalai Milk Cake and Mishti Doi Cheesecake.

The Trafalgar Square restaurant is spread across two floors and filled with Indian art and artefacts collected by the Choudhary family, making dinner as much about the surroundings as the food.

For Modern Indian Cooking: KOKUM

What: Head south of the river to KOKUM in East Dulwich, the modern Indian restaurant co-founded by former Gymkhana Head Chef Sanjay Gour and Simeron Lily Patel. The menu focuses on flavour-packed Indian cooking, with grilled starters, curries, biryanis and freshly made breads. Standout dishes include the Chicken Chop, Amritsari Fish, Chicken Tikka Biryani and Lamb Shank Nihari.It’s a great option for anyone wanting a modern take on Indian classics in a neighbourhood setting.

What: Mayfair’s Bombay Bustle has teamed up with Bunta Beer for a limited-edition lunch and early dinner pairing, bringing together the restaurant’s signature Bustle Bowls with the non-alcoholic beer. The menu includes the Magic Masala Bowl, Grand Punjab Bowl and Coastal Curry Bowl, with dishes such as Paneer Pasanda, Saag Murgh and Malabar Lamb Curry served alongside rice, paratha and pickles. The Bunta Beer pairing has been designed to complement the spice and richness of the food, offering an alternative to traditional alcoholic pairings.

What: No list of London curry spots would be complete without Roti King. The Malaysian restaurant is famous for its freshly made roti canai, which is practically made for dunking into its selection of curries.Choose from Dahl, Beef, Chicken, Mutton and Fish curries, or go for the Kari Laksa, a warming coconut curry broth packed with seafood and tofu and served with egg noodles.
