September Guide: Top 10 Things To Do In London This Month

September has arrived, which means London is officially back. New restaurants, historic pubs, Malaysian street food, Japanese cocktails and a rather brilliant Beryl Cook takeover are all on the agenda this month. Here are 10 things worth making plans for:

1. For A New Indian Restaurant: Bulbul

What: London’s Indian dining scene is getting a new addition this September, and Bulbul is taking a distinctly regional approach.

The new Blackfriars restaurant comes from chef Rohan Dsouza and restaurateur Twinkle Keswani, two of India’s most recognised hospitality names, who have spent years travelling across the country discovering recipes, ingredients and cooking traditions. The menu jumps between regions, with dishes including Dorothy’s Braised Goan Chorizo Sausages, Goan Shrimp Balchao and Mewari Laal Maas, alongside a charcoal-fired tandoor section.

The cocktails follow the same philosophy, with Indian ingredients appearing in drinks such as Feni and Rice and a Sandalwood and Nannari Negroni.Even the building has a story: Bulbul is housed inside a converted 130-year-old printing press, with colourful interiors inspired by the Indian forest.

Where: 25 Tudor Street, London EC4Y 0DD
When: From 1 September 2026

2. For A New London Pub: George & Dragon

What: One of Clerkenwell’s historic pubs is getting a serious glow-up. The Grade II-listed former Peasant on St John Street is reopening as George & Dragon this September, bringing together a neighbourhood pub downstairs and a restaurant upstairs.

The pub will serve elevated classics, sandwiches, oysters and drinks, while upstairs will be home to Island, the first permanent restaurant from Michelin-starred chefs Tom Brown and Brad Carter. The menu is all about surf and turf, with fresh oysters, lamb belly and clam skewers, steak tartare, curried mussels and a rather epic Steak & Lobster Pie.

Come Sunday, expect feast-style roasts with beef rump, Tamworth porchetta, roast chicken and catch of the day. Basically, your new excuse to head to Clerkenwell.

When: From 16 September 2026

3. For Dinner And The Big Game: LaCage

What: Watching sport and eating well don’t always go hand in hand. LaCage is here to fix that. The Montréal sports brasserie is opening its first UK restaurant on Kensington High Street this September, bringing more than 40 years of Canadian sporting culture to London.

Expect poutine, smoked beef short rib, lobster rolls, Montréal-style pizza and a smoked short rib burger, alongside cocktails including a Maple Old Fashioned, Montréal Mule and the very Canadian Montréal Caesar. The two-floor space has been designed to show multiple fixtures at once, so whether you’re into football, F1, rugby, cricket or darts, you can watch your team without sacrificing dinner. It’s basically your new excuse to turn watching the match into an actual night out.

Where: LaCage Kensington, Kensington High Street
When: From 4 September 2026

4. For A Fashion Fix: Beyond The Runway At Aqua Nueva

What: Fashion month is officially kicking off, and Aqua Nueva is getting involved with an intimate evening celebrating two of London’s most exciting emerging designers. On 5 September, Maximilian Raynor and Leo Prothmann will come together for a face-to-face Q&A hosted by fashion journalist Kati Chitrakorn, offering guests a behind-the-scenes look at the creative minds shaping London’s fashion scene.

Raynor, a Central Saint Martins graduate known for his theatrical, storytelling-led designs, has dressed everyone from Lady Gaga and Chappell Roan to Rita Ora. Meanwhile, Prothmann’s signature “Stable Glam” aesthetic combines his equestrian background with high-glamour, avant-garde design. Expect plenty of insight into their creative processes, inspirations and upcoming collections, as well as the chance to ask your own questions and get a first look at their latest designs ahead of London Fashion Week.

The panel will be followed by an informal networking session with Veuve Clicquot Champagne or French Bloom 0.0%, plus Aqua Nueva canapés. And if you don’t want the evening to end there, you can continue with dinner at Aqua Kyoto or Nueva, subject to availability. A good one for fashion students, industry insiders or anyone who simply wants to get a little closer to the action before London Fashion Week begins.

Where: Aqua Nueva, London
When: 5 September 2026, from 4pm
Tickets: £35 tickets can be purchased here

5. For A Negroni: Sale e Pepe

What: Negroni Week returns from 21–27 September, and Sale e Pepe is marking it with five twists on the Italian classic. There’s the Florence Negroni for traditionalists, while the Messina brings saffron into the mix and the Portofino combines fig leaf liqueur with gin, Campari and vermouth.

Things get even more interesting with the Trieste Negroni, which adds tobacco liqueur and cold-drip coffee to the equation. There’s also a No-Groni for anyone skipping the alcohol. Each cocktail is £15 and can be paired with Sale e Pepe’s Italian menu. We’d recommend making an evening of it.

Where: Sale e Pepe, Knightsbridge & Sale e Pepe Mare, The Langham
When: 21–27 September 2026

6. For A Taste Of Malaysia: celebrASIA

What: Battersea Power Station is getting a serious dose of South East Asian flavour this September as celebrASIA returns for three days of Malaysian food, music, film, dance, comedy and culture. Malaysia takes centre stage, with food from Syiok Lah and Eat Lah, Mandy Yin teaming up with Chick ’n’ Sours and Mambow’s Abby Lee serving her Hainanese Chicken Sando.

There’s plenty to do beyond eating, too. Try traditional pewter smithing with Royal Selangor, learn Sarawak beadwork, have a go at batik or join one of the festival’s free workshops. There’ll also be Malaysian films, live music, DJs, comedy and traditional dance. Come hungry. Stay for the culture.

When: 11–13 September 2026

7. For A Beryl Cook Takeover: Bicester Village

What: Bicester Village is getting a very Beryl Cook makeover this September.

To celebrate what would have been the much-loved British artist’s 100th birthday, House of Voltaire is presenting Beryl Cook and Friends – a mile-long, open-air installation bringing her famously colourful characters to life across the village. Expect life-size figures, large-scale murals and installations across the green spaces, benches, balconies and even phone boxes.

The big photo opportunity comes in the form of a full-scale recreation of Breakfast at Elvira’s, allowing you to step inside one of Cook’s best-known works. There’s also a House of Voltaire pop-up selling an exclusive Beryl Cook collection, with proceeds supporting Studio Voltaire’s artistic and community programmes. Less than an hour from London Marylebone by train, it’s a pretty good excuse for an autumn day trip.

Where: Bicester Village, Oxfordshire
When: 10 September–25 October 2026

8. For A Pint Of History: Bayeux Lager At The British Museum

What: Fancy drinking your way through 1066? To celebrate the opening of the new Bayeux Tapestry exhibition at the British Museum, Battle Brewery has created a limited-edition Bayeux Lager – brewed just a few miles from where the Battle of Hastings took place.

The beer will be available across the museum’s food and drink outlets, as well as in the shops, where you can pick up a special gift box to take home. Because nothing says cultural enrichment quite like learning about the Norman Conquest with a cold lager in hand.

Where: British Museum, Great Russell Street
When: From 10 September 2026

9. For Cocktails And Late-Night Beats: Chiave

What: Shoreditch cocktail bar Chiave is launching a new drinks menu this September, with award-winning bartender Bilal Tekec and team creating a collection designed to move with the room – from early evening drinks to late-night, bass-heavy sessions. The Roxy combines tequila, mango vodka, limoncello and green pepper spice, while the City Samba pairs coconut fat-washed whisky with clarified pineapple and Amaro Nonino.

There’s also the floral Capybara with gin, sakura, jasmine and palo santo, plus the Stardust – a rum, passion fruit, mint and yuzu highball. Martini fans should order the Spybreak, an olive-oil-washed vodka Martini with vermouth and fino sherry. Add Chiave’s Arda Audio sound system and you’ve got your September night out sorted.

Where: Chiave, Shoreditch

10. For A Cantonese Feast: The Parakeet x Café Kowloon

September

What: The Parakeet is teaming up with Café Kowloon for a one-night-only seven-course dinner, bringing Hong Kong-inspired Cantonese flavours to Kentish Town. Expect oysters, prawn toast, grilled sea bream and Szechuan honey ice cream, with proceeds supporting local foodbanks.

There’s also a chance to try the collaboration beyond the dinner, with a Café Kowloon dressed oyster and Julep lowball joining The Parakeet’s pub menu from 16 September to 6 October.

Where: The Parakeet, 256 Kentish Town Road
When: 23 September 2026, from 6pm
Tickets: From £90pp tickets can be purchased here
