London’s nightlife scene is getting a stylish new addition this spring as Rocket Room prepares to open above Market Place Food Hall Leicester Square this April. Set high above one of the capital’s busiest entertainment districts, the new venue promises to bring a more elevated approach to social gaming combining premium cocktails, late-night DJs and competitive group games in a sleek setting overlooking Leicester Square.
A More Refined Take on Social Gaming
Social gaming venues have become a major part of London nightlife in recent years, but Rocket Room is positioning itself differently. Rather than focusing purely on large-scale gameplay and high-volume crowds, the concept leans into a more intimate, cocktail-bar atmosphere designed for date nights, after-work drinks and smaller group gatherings.

Occupying the second floor above Market Place Food Hall, the 120-capacity space has been designed with low lighting, a central cocktail bar and curated music programming that evolves throughout the evening. DJs will soundtrack the night as the energy builds, transforming the venue from relaxed evening drinks spot into a lively late-night destination. The result feels far closer to a stylish members’ club or downtown cocktail lounge than a traditional games venue.
Games, But Make Them Chic
At the centre of the Rocket Room experience are four interactive games: axe throwing, darts, shuffleboard and beer pong. But unlike many competitive socialising venues across the city, the games here are designed to complement the atmosphere rather than dominate it. Think expertly mixed Margaritas between shuffleboard rounds, or Negronis and Old Fashioneds served alongside axe throwing sessions.

The drinks list focuses on elevated classics and premium pours, curated by professional mixologists with an emphasis on quality cocktails over novelty serves. Pricing starts from £80 per hour for axe throwing lanes, while darts begin at £40, beer pong at £35 and shuffleboard from £30. For larger groups, packages start from £35 per person, including two hours of gameplay, drinks and a reserved table area.
One of the Best Views in Leicester Square
One of Rocket Room’s biggest draws may well be its location. Overlooking Leicester Square, the venue offers a rare elevated vantage point above the crowds below particularly during the area’s famous red-carpet film premieres. From blockbuster launches to celebrity arrivals, guests will be able to soak up the atmosphere of the West End while sipping cocktails from above the square.
It’s a uniquely London setting that taps directly into the glamour and unpredictability of Leicester Square nightlife. Founder Mike Pearson said: “Leicester Square is one of the most exciting and iconic parts of London, so we wanted Rocket Room to reflect that energy. It’s a place where people can come for great cocktails, try something different with the games and enjoy the buzz of the West End.”

Rocket Room’s arrival also expands the appeal of Market Place Food Hall Leicester Square itself, which has become known for its collection of international street food traders and communal dining atmosphere. The concept encourages guests to spend an entire evening in the building starting downstairs with food before heading upstairs for cocktails, music and games.
According to Market Place Food Halls Marketing Director Holly Hilton, the addition feels like a natural fit for the venue’s growing nightlife offering. “Rocket Room is a fantastic addition to Market Place Leicester Square,” she said. “Being able to enjoy great food from our traders before heading upstairs for cocktails, games and views over Leicester Square creates a really unique experience.”
A New Kind of West End Night Out
As London’s nightlife continues to evolve, Rocket Room taps into the growing demand for immersive social spaces that feel polished rather than purely activity-led. It’s competitive socialising reimagined for a more design-conscious crowd where cocktails matter just as much as the games, and the atmosphere feels as important as the scoreboard. With panoramic views, curated drinks and a central Leicester Square location, Rocket Room looks set to become one of the West End’s most talked-about openings this spring.
