PerfectTed Is Throwing A Giant Free Birthday Party On The South Bank

Cake, matcha and a giant birthday cake installation? We’ll take it.

If your birthday falls on 26 September, you’re officially part of the UK’s biggest birthday club. According to ONS Census data, the date has historically been identified as the UK’s most common birth date and PerfectTed is giving Londoners an excuse to celebrate.

On Thursday 24 September, the matcha brand will take over Observation Point on the South Bank for a giant, completely free birthday party, marking both the UK’s most common birthday and PerfectTed’s fifth birthday.

From 11am to 6pm, visitors can expect free Lola’s cakes, freshly whisked Birthday Cake Matcha and PerfectTed goodie bags, all set against a giant birthday cake installation overlooking the Thames.

And if you actually were born on 26 September, there’s an even bigger treat. The first 100 guests who can prove their birthday falls on the date will receive a whole Lola’s bento birthday cake alongside a PerfectTed gift set worth £50, including a matcha bowl, whisk and pouch of Birthday Cake Matcha.

For everyone else, the first 400 guests will be able to pick up a free Lola’s and PerfectTed goodie bag, including a pouch of the brand’s new Birthday Cake Matcha.

The event will also give visitors an early taste of PerfectTed’s latest flavour. The new ceremonial-grade Birthday Cake Matcha brings nostalgic birthday cake flavours to the brand’s signature matcha, with freshly whisked servings available free while stocks last. It will officially launch in Sainsbury’s on 28 September.

PerfectTed

The party marks five years since PerfectTed was founded by Marisa Poster, Teddie Levenfiche and Levi Levenfiche. Since launching in 2021, the brand has grown from a matcha start-up into a major player in the UK’s booming matcha market, including a memorable appearance on Dragons’ Den in 2023, where all five Dragons made offers and Steven Bartlett invested.

So, whether you’re celebrating your actual birthday, PerfectTed’s birthday or simply fancy some free cake and matcha with a Thames view, this one is worth stopping by.
