JAB Boxing Club: New Opening in The City

JAB Boxing Club has announced the launch of its flagship EC1 Moorgate club, combining elite-level training, recovery technology and community-driven wellness under one roof.

Opening in Autumn 2026, JAB EC1 will mark a major milestone for the brand, returning JAB to its East London roots while introducing a new destination for those looking to train, recover and perform at a higher level. Located on Bunhill Row in Moorgate, the three-floor, 20,000 sq ft club has been designed as more than just a gym. Instead, JAB aims to create a complete performance ecosystem  combining boxing, strength training, recovery, nutrition and community in one carefully considered space.

The Lowdown

Founded on the belief that boxing can transform more than just physical fitness, JAB has built its reputation around the idea that training can improve confidence, resilience and mindset. The new EC1 flagship will bring together world-class coaching with state-of-the-art facilities, offering members access to boxing sessions, strength and conditioning programmes, recovery treatments and personalised support.

Unlike traditional gyms focused purely on equipment and access, JAB’s approach centres around accountability, expert guidance and measurable progress. The club is designed for those who want more from their fitness routine  combining athletic performance with the wellbeing benefits of a strong community.

Spread across three floors, JAB EC1 has been designed to deliver a complete fitness and recovery experience. The 20,000 sq ft flagship features a state of the art boxing and training studio, extensive strength and conditioning facilities, Olympic lifting platforms and dedicated performance zones, alongside a premium recovery suite complete with plunge pools and a 30 person Nordic sauna. Members also have access to personal coaching, performance guidance and Joey’s, JAB’s signature health café and social hub. The design seamlessly blends the heritage and discipline of boxing’s golden era with a contemporary approach to wellness, creating a space where training, recovery and community come together under one roof.

Beyond training and recovery, JAB EC1 will introduce Joey’s, the brand’s health-focused café designed as a place for members to refuel, connect and spend time outside the gym floor. Reflecting the growing demand for lifestyle-led fitness spaces, Joey’s will complete JAB’s vision of creating a destination where wellness extends beyond the workout itself.

The Classes:

JAB EC1’s class programme has been created around building strength, confidence and long-term performance. Members will have access to a variety of sessions, including:

Boxing: A 50-minute, 12-round boxing workout focused on endurance, power and technique.

Fundamentals: A beginner-friendly session designed to teach the foundations of boxing through controlled drills and expert coaching.

Train: A strength and conditioning workout focused on building fitness, strength and lean muscle.

Perform: A performance-led strength session centred around compound lifts, athletic ability and power development.

Contrast: A dedicated recovery session combining breathwork, sauna, ice baths and recovery techniques.

Method: An athletic Pilates-inspired class designed to improve mobility, posture, core strength and injury prevention.

For founder George Veness, the EC1 opening represents a meaningful return to where the brand’s story began.

I built JAB on a simple belief that boxing changes people. Not just their fitness, but their mindset, confidence and sense of self,” says Veness.

To bring that belief to EC1, close to where I first learnt to box, is incredibly special.

The founder highlights community as one of JAB’s defining qualities, creating an environment where members support each other and work towards shared goals.

The launch of JAB EC1 follows a successful £20 million fundraising round and the appointment of David Cooper, co-founder and former CEO of Gymbox, as Chairman. With global expansion planned for 2027, the new Moorgate flagship represents the next stage of JAB’s ambition to build a worldwide community centred around performance, wellbeing and personal growth. For Londoners looking to move beyond traditional gym memberships, JAB offers a new approach one where expert coaching, recovery and community are just as important as the workout itself.

Founding Memberships

Founding memberships for JAB EC1 are now available from £240 per month, giving members unlimited access to the club’s boxing, strength, conditioning, Pilates and recovery classes, alongside its performance led open gym.
