Inside The Ritz-Carlton Maldives, Fari Islands’ Masters of Crafts 2026

There’s a certain magic to the Maldives, the kind that slows your breathing the moment your feet touch the sand. At The Ritz-Carlton Maldives, Fari Islands, that sense of calm is woven into every detail, from the architecture hovering above turquoise lagoons to the gentle rhythm of island life. In January 2026, the resort elevates that feeling even further with the return of its much-loved Masters of Crafts series, opening the season with a week dedicated to sound, movement and holistic wellbeing.

Running from January 19–26, 2026, the programme brings together two visionary creatives: singer-songwriter Madison McFerrin and movement therapist Jacy Cunningham, founder of The Jacy Method. Set against the serene backdrop of the North Malé Atoll, the residency invites guests to experience music and fitness not as activities, but as moments of connection — to self, to place and to the present.

A Soundtrack for Island Life

Los Angeles based Madison McFerrin is known for her genre-blending sound, layering neo-soul, R&B and jazz-inspired harmonies into something deeply emotive and intimate. At The Ritz-Carlton Maldives, her performances are carefully curated to echo the natural flow of the island, creating experiences that feel personal rather than performative.

On January 22, McFerrin takes to the shoreline for a sunset concert at the Beach Shack, where her voice drifts across the Indian Ocean as the sky fades into gold. The following evening sees a more intimate candlelight performance at Mystique Garden, with music unfolding beneath the stars in a setting designed for stillness and reflection. Her residency concludes on January 25 with a Morning Coffee Session at The Ritz-Carlton Estate, where the poolside deck of the four-bedroom beach residence becomes a refined yet relaxed space to begin the day.

These aren’t headline concerts they’re immersive encounters, designed to feel in tune with the Maldives’ slower pace and natural beauty.

Movement Rooted in Balance

Complementing the musical programme, Jacy Cunningham returns to The Ritz-Carlton Maldives for his second Masters of Crafts appearance, bringing with him a series of HIIT fusion sessions that blend athletic conditioning, functional movement and mindful breathwork. Designed to be adaptable for all levels, Cunningham’s approach focuses on resilience and balance rather than intensity alone.

Each session takes place in a different island setting, allowing guests to experience movement as part of the landscape. The week begins with Resilience and Flow, a sunrise workout on Recreation Beach, followed by Igniting Inner Strength at Mystique Garden. On January 24, Lightness and Freedom unfolds within the lush surroundings of Uthuru Garden, before the series concludes with Stability and Strength at The Ritz-Carlton Spa a serene finale that brings body and mind into alignment.

Rather than pushing guests to their limits, the sessions encourage presence, awareness and restoration — a philosophy perfectly suited to a wellness-focused Maldives escape.

A Thoughtful Take on Luxury Wellbeing

For Oscar Postma, General Manager of The Ritz-Carlton Maldives, Fari Islands, the Masters of Crafts series is about creating experiences that resonate long after guests depart. “Their artistry and dedication to emotional and physical wellbeing offer guests a rare opportunity to connect deeply with music, movement, and the natural rhythm of our island,” he says.

Set within an archipelago of sculptural villas designed by Kerry Hill Architects, the resort offers more than just a beautiful backdrop. Guests can retreat to one- to four-bedroom villas with dedicated Aris Meeha service, dine across world-class restaurants led by Executive Chef Pedro Samper, or explore the wider Fari Marina, the cultural heart of the islands.

In a destination defined by natural beauty, The Ritz-Carlton Maldives Masters of Crafts 2026 stands out for its intentionality. This is luxury travel that feels meaningful — where sound meets stillness, movement meets mindfulness, and every moment is designed to restore.
