ALBA London Review: A Taste of the Amalfi Coast at Knightsbridge’s New Luxury Italian Restaurant

Looking for one of the best Italian restaurants in Knightsbridge? ALBA London brings the charm, flavours and elegance of the Amalfi Coast to Brompton Road, offering a luxury Italian dining experience moments from Harrods. From its Mediterranean-inspired interiors to its refined seafood-led menu, ALBA is designed to transport guests from central London to the sun-soaked shores of Southern Italy.

The Lowdown

Meaning “sunrise” in Italian, ALBA London captures the warmth and beauty of Italy’s coastline through food, design and hospitality. Located on Brompton Road, just opposite Harrods. From the moment guests arrive, ALBA feels like an escape from the city. A dramatic staircase in the middle of a luxury furnatiture shop leads to the second-floor dining room, where floor to ceiling windows overlook Harrods and create an especially magical atmosphere as the lights of Knightsbridge come alive in the evening.

Inspired by the Amalfi Coast, every detail has been carefully considered from the scent of real citrus trees and handmade Venetian flooring to the yacht-inspired interiors that bring the spirit of Mediterranean luxury indoors.

Interiors

The interiors at ALBA London are a major part of the experience. Designed by award winning architecture studio YODEZEEN, the restaurant reflects the effortless glamour of la Dolce Vita with a palette of olive greens, lemon yellows and terracotta tones.

Real citrus trees are placed throughout the dining space, while luxury furniture from Italian design house Exteta creates a sophisticated maritime feel inspired by the interiors of Mediterranean yachts.

At the heart of the restaurant sits an open kitchen, allowing guests to watch the chefs prepare each dish. Nearby, a dramatic seafood display showcases the restaurant’s dedication to exceptional produce, featuring ingredients such as lobster, langoustine, oysters, sea urchin and king crab. The result is a dining room that blends Italian craftsmanship, coastal elegance and modern London luxury.

The Food

The menu at ALBA London celebrates authentic Italian cooking while adding a contemporary touch. Led by Head Chef Cristian Ianni, the restaurant focuses on seasonal ingredients, traditional techniques and the flavours of Southern Italy.

Guests can begin with classic Italian starters including Aubergine Parmigiana, Fritto Misto and Beef Carpaccio, before moving on to handmade pasta dishes such as the signature Lobster Linguine, Duck Ragu Pappardelle and Crab Ravioli.

Seafood takes centre stage throughout the menu, with highlights including Dorset Scallops, Octopus alla Luciana and a selection of fresh fish sourced through ALBA’s seafood counter.

For those looking beyond the sea, the menu includes Italian favourites such as Veal Milanese, Lamb Chop and Filetto di Bosco with black truffle, alongside carefully selected sides and seasonal salads.

ALBA

Desserts continue the Italian theme with indulgent options including Pistachio Tiramisu, traditional Panettone and ALBA’s signature gelato served tableside  adding a theatrical touch to the end of the meal.

Cocktails and Wine

The drinks offering at ALBA London is equally impressive, with a cocktail menu created by Bar Manager Marco Tilocca at the restaurant’s distinctive emerald bar.

Guests can enjoy modern interpretations of Italian classics including the Amalfi Spritz, made with Ciroc Vodka, Limoncello and Prosecco Valdobbiadene DOC, or the Italian Riviera featuring Tanqueray Gin and Lavender Liqueur.

ALBA

For summer, ALBA has introduced a limited-edition spritz menu in collaboration with Campari, including the signature ALBA Spritz and a beautifully presented Amalfi-inspired carafe designed for leisurely afternoons and evening aperitivo.

Wine lovers will also find an exceptional selection, with a cellar featuring some of the world’s most prestigious labels from Italy and France. Standout bottles include Masseto, Dom Pérignon and Romanée-Conti DRC, alongside rare selections available by the glass.
