This April, London’s beloved Pizza Pilgrims is turning the humble pizza crust into the star of the show with the launch of its limited-edition Double Dip menu. In collaboration with iconic British brands Dishoom, Honest Burgers, Pho, and Sweet Dee’s Jerk, the initiative promises a playful, flavour-packed way to rescue up to 47 tonnes of pizza crust from going to waste each year.
A Crust Revolution: The Double Dip Menu
Pizza Pilgrims’ founders, James and Thom Elliot, know that in Neapolitan pizza, the crust is the soul of the dish. Inspired by a quirky national habit—research shows that one in four Britons can’t eat pizza crusts without a dip—the brothers have partnered with their hospitality friends to reimagine the crust as the most exciting part of the plate.
The Double Dip menu introduces four unique dipping sauces, each inspired by the signature flavours of the partner brands:
- Dishoom Chilli Chutney Dip: House mayo blended with red chilli, garlic, citrus, and aromatic spices for a punchy kick.
- Honest Burgers Rosemary Chips Dip: A herb-forward mix of house mayo, fresh rosemary, crushed olive oil crisps, and a touch of salt.
- Pho Peanut Sauce: A rich, nutty, and savoury peanut sauce infused with chilli and garlic.
- Sweet Dee’s Jerk BBQ: Smoky BBQ sauce with Sweet Dee’s signature sweet and fiery jerk spice blend.
Priced at £2 per dipper or £6 for the full set, the menu is available in all Pizza Pilgrims locations across the UK and via Deliveroo throughout April.

Fighting Food Waste While Making a Difference
Pizza Pilgrims estimates that Britons waste up to 47 tonnes of pizza crust each year—the equivalent weight of four London buses. Through the Double Dip launch, the brand aims to reduce this waste while making the crust a must-eat part of every pizza.
In addition, April’s initiative coincides with World Wish Month, a global effort to grant life-changing wishes for critically ill children and their families. Pizza Pilgrims is doubling donations from every dipper sold, ensuring that each bite contributes to a meaningful cause.
James and Thom Elliot explain, “In Napoli, the crust is the soul of the pizza, and ours is made fresh daily using the best ingredients from the region. We started thinking—what if the right dips with some of our hospitality friends could save the nation’s crust-wasting habits?”

The Pizza Pilgrims Story
Founded in 2011, Pizza Pilgrims began as a street food venture in London, driven by the brothers’ love for authentic Neapolitan pizza. Their journey involved flying to the heart of Naples, buying a Piaggio Ape van, and driving back to London while sampling Italy’s best pizzas along the way. Their first permanent pizzeria opened in Soho in 2013, and the brand has since expanded to over 26 locations across the UK, including Cardiff, Edinburgh, Manchester, and Birmingham.
Known for its commitment to sustainability, community, and quality, Pizza Pilgrims achieved B Corp certification in 2024, further cementing its role as a pioneer in responsible hospitality. From the streets of Berwick Street Market to nationwide recognition, the brand continues to innovate while celebrating its Neapolitan roots.
